According to the Instituto da Vinha e do Vinho (IVV), Portugal produced over 7.5 million hectoliters of wine in 2023. In the same period, the country's olive harvest reached an estimated 740,000 tons (Herdade da Bica / IOC data), while almond production surpassed 46,000 tons (CNCFS). MGD Innovations operates in the heart of these production regions, where the resulting by-products remain largely underutilized.
